Rodgers…), and others know when to say when. Racehorses are elite athletes and should be treated with the same care and respect. That’s why horseOlogy offers rehab and layup services. Whether they need a mental break for a short time or need to recover from an injury before returning to the track, we can do it all. Here’s what you can expect from rehab and layup at horseOlogy.

Routine and Structure

Horses are creatures of habit. Highly trained racehorses get used to things being a certain way, and when they’re not anymore, it can make them depressed. While a lot of the rehab and layup process is about physical healing, it’s also about their mental well-being. We take a Horse-First approach and work with each individual to ensure they get the routine and structure they need to achieve the best results.

Medically Supervised Therapies

We work closely with our veterinarians, farrier, and equine nutritionists to ensure each horse receives the best possible care. When necessary, we’ll go beyond what we can provide and call in professionals to help with medically supervised therapies, such as chiropractic, to get each horse up to speed safely and comfortably.

Seasonal Refresh

We can offer a break for your athletes at horseOlogy. Suppose your horses need a break in their career or a seasonal freshening before heading north for the second half of the racing schedule. In that case, our rehab and layup program is a comprehensive opportunity for you to give your horse what they need. We encourage you to talk to us about what we can provide and let us get your horses ready for the next phase of their career.

Attention to Detail

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail. Nothing will fall through the cracks at horseOlogy. In our farm setting, we can keep the costs low and be able to transition your horse back to the track quickly as soon as they are ready. They don’t need to stay at a fancy rehabilitation center if you choose horseOlogy. They can be eased back into training in a safe and comfortable way for everyone.
