At horseOlogy, we believe that whichever side of the business one wishes to be involved in always begins with detail-oriented horsemanship. We focus on developing and training at our facility, where we are hands-on with every horse.
Our approach to developing and training a young horse is through joining up with each horse so that they understand the process of learning their new job through acceptance and not fear. Building off these foundational blocks is paramount in making future racing champions.
The Ologist Formula
Developing and Training
Our developing and training process starts in the stall, where we take quiet time with each horse to assess its personality. From there, we shift to the large round pen and begin building trust as we introduce commands, manners, steering, and brakes.
Once this is accomplished, we introduce a rider to the horse’s back. We can then build off the established trust and teach the horse to move forward from the leg. When each horse successfully understands, we transition to a large grass field where the horse can try out their new skill set.
These are only the first steps in becoming a racehorse. Once our horses are freely galloping in hand in the field, we transition to the race track. When on the racetrack, we introduce the subsequent building blocks into their future as a racehorse, which includes walking through the starting gate, galloping down the stretch, and changing leads.
To have the most comprehensive and balanced developing and training program, we introduce swimming to their schedule once the young horses successfully train under tack. Swimming offers balanced respiratory and aerobic exercise.
Attention to Detail
We closely manage our numbers. All of our horses experience one-on-one with Jena and Katie, where they provide the expertise and careful attention to detail to support the optimal experience at the sale or on the track.
We want to maintain a program that allows us to spend significant time with each horse daily. horseOlogy works with you to ascertain short- and long-term goals to set your stable up for the best possible success.

With over 400 acres of rolling hills, horseOlogy facilities are among the finest in Ocala's Horse Capital of the World. We offer a freshwater swimming pool, a large eurociser, and ample paddock space in addition to our 3/4 mile sand track and endless bridle trails available for jogging and galloping. We are centrally located and easily accessible from multiple international airports (Gainesville, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville).
