horseOlogy purchases weanlings to sell as yearlings and yearlings to sell as 2-year-olds.

We bring years of experience evaluating conformation and pedigree to uncover the best pinhooking prospects. Maintaining a constant thumb on the pulse of successful commercial trends allows our partners to experience pinhooking at its’ finest. We feel the time spent on the sales grounds evaluating each horse is invaluable. We pride ourselves on the steps we take to make the most educated decisions at the sales for our partners.

Weanling

Weanling: a foal that has been weaned from its mother generally between 4-6 months of age. Typically bought from Keeneland in November and sold at Keeneland, Fasig Tipton, or OBS 8-10 months later.

Yearling

Yearling: a young horse that has celebrated their first New Years. Typically bought from Keeneland, Fasig Tipton, or OBS between July-October and sold at a training sale the following year between March-June.

2-Year-Old

2-year-old: a horse that has celebrated its 2nd New Years that is broke to ride and training on the racetrack in our case. Bought as a weanling or yearling and sold at a 2-year-old in training sale between March-June of their two-year-old year where there is a breeze show incorporated.

You Dream It

We Make It Happen

Profitable Results

horseOlogy structures each Pinhook investment to achieve a profitable result for our partners and a successful racing career for the end-user. Our historical data is proof of this; graduates of our pinhooking program provide impressive statistics:

Fixed Cost Billing

Why us?

At horseOlogy, our fixed cost billing eliminates surprising monthly bills and having to decipher many lines of foreign-sounding costs. There is one fee inclusive of all of the daily expenses incurred in the 9-10 month span of your pinhooking investment. While our goal is to make every horse profitable, one of the essential parts of pinhooking is knowing when you may have to let one go for less than we had hoped for. Having transparent and forthcoming dialog is paramount for these conversations.

What do we do in the time between buying and selling

Our relationship with consignors and sales companies to make sure we are the most appropriately placed with each horse.

When:

Investments are available throughout the year with a heavy focus from July to November.

How:

Give us a call at 855-HORSIES to see what we currently have available or to get set up before the next sale.

Why:

When you think Thoroughbred, you typically think racehorse. Owning or buying into a racehorse is a big step and a big commitment that not everyone may enjoy or be able to participate in. By opening up investing to pinhooking, we can share a slice of the thoroughbred industry with you for a shorter period of time (with an end date) and a quicker, more feasible profit margin.
